At present normal smears are repeated every 3 years for women aged 25 - 49 years and every 5 years for women aged 50 - 64 years. If you are between 25 and 64 years of age you should receive a recall automatically, but if you have not had a smear within the above timescales please make an appointment. A smear is the only way to detect early changes to the neck of the womb and allow treatment to prevent cancer.
Women between 50 - 65 years are invited to attend the local breast screening unit every 3 years for mammography to detect any abnormality.

Anyone aged 65 years or over, or who suffers from diabetics, asthma, heart disease, chest problems, kidney or liver disease should be vaccinated each autumn against influenza.
As well as routine vaccinations we specifically deal with holiday vaccinations and advice on travelling. Please see the Practice Nurse as soon as your travel arrangements are confirmed as some vaccinations have to be given with set intervals and the more time available, the easier this will be to achieve.
