Message from the SLMP Partners 13th July 2021
Thank you for your patience over the past 15 months whilst we have been dealing with an unprecedented worldwide medical pandemic. Whilst government guidance is changing over the coming weeks as the country opens up, we still have a responsibility to comply with public health and infection control guidance to protect both all our patients, especially those who are elderly and clinically vulnerable, and all of our staff to enable us to continue to provide a good service going forwards.
As many of you are aware , our staff have done outstanding work to organise vaccinations for all the over 50s and clinically vulnerable patients, whilst still running the practice on a day to day basis over the past 6 months. The good news is that the vast majority of our patients are now vaccinated, which will provide some protection going forward.
However – it is still vitally important to follow the infection control guidance as rates of infection locally are currently higher than they have been for some time and still rising. Because of this we will still be triaging requests for appointments to make sure that we are keeping both patients and staff as safe as possible. Please be assured that if you need to see a clinician face to face we will arrange this.
Please be aware that we continue to recommend face mask wearing whilst in the practice building, and that you will still be asked on entering the building about possible coronavirus symptoms. It is also very important that ALL those with any of the symptoms of covid- a new cough, a fever OR loss of sense of taste or smell- have a PCR test for covid. This can be organised through the government website or by ringing 119.
A lateral flow test is not sufficient if you have symptoms.
All household contacts should still isolate until results are available.
We're really proud of our performance in the latest GP Patient Survey - we've scored above the national average in almost every area.
As the weather turns warmer we are expecting more visitors to the area which could lead in increased pressure on our hospitals and services. 111 can be used for any non life threatening emergency and is available to residents and visitors alike.
