The Practice will not be continuing the routine wart clinic for cryotherapy treatment (freezing warts)

Cryotherapy for those currently receiving treatment will continue to complete a totoal of four treatments.

National recommendations based on guidelines of the British Association of Dermatologists are that, for most warts, treatment is not indicated.

Most warts do not usually cause symptoms and resolve spontaneously within months or, at the most,  1-2 years.

Treatment may be ineffective, prolonged and have adverse effects

There is little evidence that cryotherapy treatment is effective and no evidence that cryotherapy is more effective than over the counter treatments.
